Navy conducts several beach cleaning programmes

Several programmes of the Sri Lanka Navy’s beach cleaning effort were held at the beaches of Hambantota, Panama, Baththalangunduwa and Trincomalee on 31^st January 2020.

Accordingly, these beach cleaning programmes were conducted at the beaches within the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee by the Eastern Naval Command, Hambantota beach by the Southern Naval Command, Panama beach by the Southeastern Naval Command and Baththalangunduwa beach by the Northwestern Naval Command. The aforementioned beaches polluted due to numerous reasons were well cleaned by naval personnel who took part in those programmes.

Under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, the Navy has been conducting a number of beach cleaning programmes at beaches around the island, making them neat and tidy destinations to be visited.
