Crew members of INS ‘Jamuna’ pitch in with SLN to clean Mount Lavinia beach

The crew members of INS ‘Jamuna’ pitched in with their SLN counterparts to clean the Mount Lavinia beach today (08th February 2020).

A beach clean-up programme, organized under the ‘Green and Blue’ project mooted by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, was held at the Mount Lavinia beach today and it was joined by the crew members of Indian Naval Ship (INS) ‘Jamuna’ as well. The Indian ship recently arrived in Sri Lanka to undertake a hydrographic survey from Colombo to Galle.

The Indian naval personnel made a very positive contribution to the success of this worthy cause and extended their appreciation to the Sri Lanka Navy for working in full swing to create a beautiful coastal belt around the island. The programme also paved the way to further the spirit of goodwill between two navies.
