VBSS course for personnel of Indian Ocean rim association (IORA) commenced in Trincomalee

Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) Course for personnel of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) was commenced at the Special Boat Squadron Training School in Trincomalee, today (10th January 2020).

This course is conducted under the directives of the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and the Training Commander Special Boat Squadron Training School, Commander Nissanka Wikramasinghe, graced the inauguration of the course as the chief guest.

Total sixteen (16) students including one (01) Coast Guard person from Bangladesh, eight (08) naval personnel from Naval Fleet and seven (07) naval personnel from Special Boat Squadron (SBS) have joined the course.

This course scheduled for 12 days, will impart the trainees a comprehensive knowledge on VBSS boarding team procedure and Maritime Law Enforcements Operations (MLEO) in territorial waters whilst enabling the participants to pick the brain of experienced SLN personnel to hone their knowledge mainly on drug identification, drug transferring methods and planning, preparation and boarding procedures.
