Navy renders assistance to extinguish fire in dinghy at Gregory Lake

The Navy rendered assistance to extinguish a sudden fire broke out in a pleasure boat moored at the jetty of Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya today (13th February 2020).

Sri Lanka Navy has deployed a special lifesaving team of the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) on the Gregory Lake premises for the safety of local and foreign holidaymakers who visit this historic landmark in Nuwara Eliya. The Navy lifesavers have also been able to rescue a number of tourists in danger at the Gregory Lake on numerous occasions.

In a similar vein, the RABS lifesaving team today managed to successfully fight a sudden fire broke out in a which is use as a pleasure boat and averted possibly a much bigger hazard, had the fire caught nearby boats.
