Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera assumes duties as Commander Eastern Naval Area

Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera assumed duties as the Commander Eastern Naval Area at the ENC Headquarters, today (26th February 2020).

The incoming Area Commander was accorded a guard of honour and warmly received to the Eastern Naval Command and his predecessor, Rear Admiral Meril Wickramasinghe formally handed over the duties of the position to Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera at the Eastern Naval Command HQ, Trincomalee. Prior to this new appointment, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera commanded the Northwestern Naval Command as the Area Commander and Rear Admiral Meril Wickramasinghe is due to go on retirement within a short period.

After Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera was congratulated by fellow officers of the Eastern Naval Command, they bade farewell to the outgoing senior officer according a guard of honour in compliance with naval traditions.
