Navy apprehends person with Methamphetamine (Ice)

The Navy and the Police conducted a joint raid in Puttalam area and apprehended a suspect with Methamphetamine (Ice) on 29th February 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy that is playing a pivotal role in making a drug-free society, has been initiating a number of steps to wage its war on drug trafficking into the island and peddling of drugs in the country. During a similar search operation conducted by the naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command with Puttalam Police, the Navy has managed to find 570mg of Methamphetamine (Ice) from a house in Puttalam area.

Further, a 37-year-old suspicious person residing in the same area was also taken into custody. Meanwhile, the Puttalam Police is conducting further investigation on the amount of recovered Methamphetamine (Ice) and the suspect.
