Person possessed drugs apprehended by Navy

SL Navy apprehended a person with Kerala Cannabis at Poduwakattu area in Trincomalee on 1^st March 2020.

As another step of Navy’s continuous drug prevention operations, Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with Police Narcotics Division-Trincomalee conducted a raid at Poduwakattu area in Trincomalee. During the raid a suspicious person travelling on a motor cycle was spotted and he was searched. By the search about 40g of Kerala cannabis was recovered in his possession and accordingly the suspect, amount of KG and the motor cycle were apprehended.

The 34 years old suspect was identified as a resident of the same area. Apprehended suspect, amount of KG and the motor cycle were handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for further investigation.
