Ninth Indo- Sri Lanka Navy to Navy Staff Talks concludes successfully

The 9th staff Talks between Indian and Sri Lankan Navies which took place at the Colombo Light House Galley premises, successfully concluded today (3rd March 2020). The discussion was attended by the Sri Lanka Navy delegation headed by the Director General Operations Rear Admiral Nandana Jayarathna and the Indian Navy delegation headed by Deputy Chief of Naval Staff and Head of Foreign Affairs and Intelligence of the Indian Navy Rear Admiral Athul Anand.p>

During the discussion, the participants from India and Sri Lanka extensively discussed on reinforcing the range of defence matters of bilateral importance. Further the representatives of the both delegations were interested in exchanging views on mutual cooperation on curbing the smuggling activities in the Indian Ocean. At the end of the discussion the members of the Indian and Sri Lankan Navy delegations posed for a group photograph.

After conclusion of Staff Talks, Rear Admiral Athul Anand called on the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at his office. They held cordial discussion on matters of mutual interest and mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion.
