Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Parramatta arrives at port of Colombo

The Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Parramatta today (07th March 2020) arrived at the port of Colombo and she was welcomed by Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.

Colombo harbour became the latest port of call for HMAS Parramatta which arrived here to continue the close maritime security cooperation between Australia and Sri Lanka. An Australian delegation including Commander Anita Mary Nemarich, Commanding Officer of HMAS Parramatta also called on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe and held a cordial discussion on matters of bilateral importance. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark the importance of this occasion.

The ship will remain in Sri Lanka from 07th to 11th March and during her stay in the island the crew is scheduled to take part in a wide range of programmes, friendly sporting events and tours organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
