Friendly cricket match between UK armed forces and Sri Lanka Navy

A friendly cricket match between the UK armed forces team which arrived in Sri Lanka on 10th of this month and Sri Lanka Navy was played at the Welisara Navy Grounds on 14th March 2020.

In the friendly match played in 40 overs, England won the toss and scored 127 runs for the loss of all wickets after 35 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka Navy won the game having scored 128 runs only losing 03 wickets on completion of 23 overs. The players of both countries were enthusiastic and excited about the friendly encounter, which was also a refreshing experience for the teams of both countries.

The prize awarding ceremony was held under the patronage of Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenna and Director Sports, Commodore Jagath Premaratne. Players from both teams also posed for a group photograph on completion of the game.
