Certificate Awarding Ceremony of 05th Long Logistics Management Course

Marking the culmination of the Long Logistics Management Course No.05, its certificate awarding ceremony was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium, Trincomalee on 15th March 2020. Director General Logistics, Rear Admiral Udaya Hettiarachchi graced this occasion as the Chief Guest. Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Commodore Prasanna Mahawithana warmly welcomed senior officers and other distinguished guests, delivering the welcome speech at the commencement of the ceremony.

The Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) is the highest professional course conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy for its logistics branch officers. The 42 weeks of full time academic course commenced on 06th May 2019 at the Naval and Maritime Academy and terminated on 15th March 2020. This year’s course was followed by 13 officers from the logistics branch of Sri Lanka Navy along with 01 officer from Sri Lanka Army and another officer from Bangladesh Navy. Subject modules were conducted by qualified lecturers from the Eastern University, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and senior logistic branch officers of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Following student officers received trophies and book prizes from the chief guest for their outstanding performance.

First in order of merit - Lieutenant Commander (S) LD Serasinghe

Highest aggregate in academic subjects - Lieutenant Commander (S) PLN De Silva

Highest aggregate in naval logistics subjects - Lieutenant Commander (S) S Kabir from Bangladesh Navy

Most inspirational officer of the course - Lieutenant Commander (S) LD Serasinghe

Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera, Director General Budget and Finance, Rear Admiral Vijitha Maddegoda, Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Rear Admiral Upul De Silva, Director General Training, Rear Admiral Rohitha Perera, officers and a large number of distinguished guests were also present on this occasion. The proceedings of the event came to a close after the delivery of vote of thanks by Training Captain of Naval and Maritime Academy, Captain Kosala Wijesuriya.
