Navy engaged in a programme of disinfecting Inter Provincial Main Passenger Bus Terminal - Colombo

In a bid to arrest the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID – 19) in the island, Sri Lanka Navy engaged in a programme of disinfecting the Inter Provincial Main Passenger Bus Terminal at Bastian Mawatha, Colombo today (20th March 2020).

In support of the government’s coordinated efforts to control the spread of the disease in the country, the Navy has already commenced several programmes under the able guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva. Taking the safety of commuters into consideration, this programme was carried out at the Provincial Main Passenger Bus Terminal – Colombo by Navy’s Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Unit.

Accordingly, the bus terminal premise which is frequented by a large number of people on regular basis was sterilized thoroughly in accordance with proper procedures. Meanwhile, the Navy will continue to carry out disinfecting programmes at public places for the safety of the general public.
