Navy disinfects a number of places in Mundalama

Yet another sterilization programme conducted by Sri Lanka Navy to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the country was held at Mundalama Police station, court premises, district hospital and prison of Puttalam on 19th and 20th March 2020.

While assisting the coordinated efforts of the government to control the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Navy carried out this sterilization programme at Mundalama Police station, court premises, district hospital and prison of Puttalam over two days. In response to a request of the Mundalama Medical Officer of Health, the Navy's Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Unit, under the guidance of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal de Silva, conducted the series of disinfection programmes at above places.

Accordingly, sterilization of those premises was conducted in accordance with proper procedures and the Navy is fully committed to sterilize places which are often roamed by the general public, in an attempt to arrest further spread of the virus.
