Navy conducts sterilization programmes at several places in Galle

As a measure of controlling the spreading of new coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted sterilization programmes at several public places frequently surrounded by people in Galle area on 18th, 19th and 20th March 2020.

In view of empowering the government's integrated mechanism to stop the spreading the new coronavirus which has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization, under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Siva, number of sterilization programmes are being carried out by the Navy. Accordingly, under the guidance of Commander Southern Naval Area Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul, Navy’s Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Unit attached to the Southern Naval Command engaged in sterilizing the Galle harbour, Kaluwella Christian church and Galle District Secretariat premises during last three days.

Meanwhile, the Navy is geared up by all means to take every possible action to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.
