Navy conducts disinfection programmes at several places in Ragama

In its effort to arrest the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted several disinfection programmes at Colombo North Teaching Hospital and Polgahahena Infant Jesus Preschool in Ragama today (26th March 2020).

To strengthen the joint mechanism to control the spread of the new coronavirus in the country, these programmes of sterilization were carried out in Ragama area, going by the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva. Accordingly, the programmes were successfully conducted in Ragama today by Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit.

The CBRN Unit conducted the disinfection programmes at Colombo North Teaching Hospital and Polgahahena Infant Jesus Preschool in accordance with proper guidelines for sanitization and disinfection.

This is the second time that the Navy has sterilized at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama and it is planning to carry out continuous disinfection programmes in public places to ward off the deadly coronavirus.
