Navy conducts disinfection programme at Colombo North Teaching Hospital once again

In its effort to arrest the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted a disinfection programme at Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama for the second time on 28th March 2020.

Going by the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, the sterilization programme was successfully conducted for the second time following the standard operational procedure and covering all locations in the hospital premises by the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit attached to the Western Naval Command. This programme was carried out in order to control the spread of new coronavirus in Colombo district which has been declared a risk zone by the government.

Further, Navy is planning to carry out continuous disinfection programmes in public places to ward off the deadly coronavirus.
