Navy distributes relief supplies among people in areas belonging to the Southeastern Naval Command

The Sri Lanka Navy launched a programme to distribute dry rations among several families in areas belonging to the Southeastern Naval Command.

The Sri Lanka Navy has been conducting various programmes under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, to further strengthen the government's efforts to control the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.

As part of this initiative, the Southeastern Naval Command had launched a programme to distribute dry rations among several families in the command. The programme was held from 27th to 29th March 2020, under the guidance of Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Senarath Wijesooriya. During this magnanimous programme relief supplies were distributed among families in Panama, Kalmunai, Akkaraipattu, Pottuvil and Lahugala areas.

This programme was carried out with the assistance of all naval personnel of the Southeastern Naval Command. Meanwhile, the Navy is ready to undertake similar naval social responsibility programmes in the future as well.
