Navy conducts more other disinfection programmes

In order to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus in the country, Sri Lanka Navy conducted number of disinfection programmes at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Colombo North Teaching Hospital-Ragama, District Secretariat-Galle, Central Bank and Dedicated Economic Center -Meegoda during the period from 30th March to 01st April 2020.

On the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva these programmes of sterilization were carried out by Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit, at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Colombo North Teaching Hospital-Ragama, District Secretariat-Galle, Central Bank and Dedicated Economic Center -Meegoda during the period from 30th March to 1st April 2020. Accordingly, the programmes were successfully conducted in accordance with proper guidelines for sanitization and disinfection, in order to control the spread of coronavirus in Colombo district which has been declared a risk zone by the government and to contain the spread of the virus in Galle district as well.

Further, Navy is planning to carry out continuous disinfection programmes in public places to ward off the deadly coronavirus.
