Ruwala Resort, Kalpitiya handed over to Navy to be used as quarantine centre

The Ceyline Holdings Pvt Ltd today (08th April 2020) temporarily handed over its Ruwala Resort in Kalpitiya to the Sri Lanka Navy to be used as a quarantine centre. Accordingly, this 31-room resort in Kalpitiya will be utilized as a quarantine centre by the Navy during the current crisis faced by the nation.

The tourism industry and related services have dropped to a bare minimum amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. In such circumstances, the board of directors of Ceyline Holdings Pvt Ltd has decided to contribute to the quarantine efforts of the Navy by strengthening the government's efforts to prevent the spread of new coronavirus. The occasion to temporarily hand over this facility to the Navy was held at the Light House Galley, Colombo today. The occasion was attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, senior officers, Executive Chairman, Captain (Merchant Navy) Ajith Peiris and a group of officials of Ceyline Holdings Pvt Ltd.

Further, once the prevailing situation in the country has returned to normal, the facility will be handed over to the company to resume operations, after sterilization the premises in accordance with proper guidelines for sanitization and disinfection. The Commander of the Navy extended his gratitude to the Ceyline Holdings Pvt Ltd which is a well-known body in tourism industry, for taking this sensible decision in these challenging times.
