Navy conducts more disinfection programmes at several locations
In its continuous efforts to control the spread of new coronavirus within the country, the Navy conducted several disinfection programmes at Colombo Dockyard, entrances of Colombo harbour, Warakapola Base Hospital and Zahira College Puttalam on 12th and 16th April 2020.
Under the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, these disinfection programmes at above locations were carried out by the Navy’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit. The CBRN Unit sterilized all premises of said institutions in accordance with proper sterilization guidelines.
Meanwhile, the Navy stands ready to carry out similar sterilization programmes in public places to prevent the further spread of the virus.
