Two persons apprehended with Kerala cannabis by Navy-STF combined raid

Two persons with Kerala cannabis were apprehend during a operation carried out by Navy in coordination with Police STF, at new hospital area in Hambanthota, on 04^th May 2020.

While contributing in the campaigns to control coronavirus over the country, SL Navy is continuing its operations to prevent illegal drug smuggling attempts across the sea and on the land. Accordingly, during a search operation conducted by a team of naval personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command in coordination with Police STF-Ambalanthota, at new hospital area in Hambanthota, two suspicious persons were searched. By the search, 400g of Kerala cannabis which was in their possession, was recovered. The amount of Kerala cannabis and the 02 suspects were taken into custody.

The apprehended suspects are residents of Beliatta and Hakuruwela areas, aged 22 and 32. Recovered Kerala cannabis and the suspects were handed over to Hambanthota Police for onward investigation.
