Senior retired naval officers donate essential items to the Navy to continue its fight against COVID-19

Senior retired naval officers belonging to the 10thintake of Officer Cadets handed over a stock of vacuum flasks to the Navy at the Naval Headquarters today (09th May 2020). These items are expected to be used in programmes which are undertaken by the Navy in view of arresting the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The Navy is receiving a range of material aids from various agencies and organizations for the programmes being undertaken by it to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country. In this backdrop, the senior retired naval officers belonging to the 10th intake of Officer Cadets handed over this stock of vacuum flasks to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Naval Headquarters today. Rear Admiral (Retd) WMPL Weerasinghe and Commander (Retd) AS De Silva from the 10th intake were also present on this occasion.

Meanwhile, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, receiving the stock of aids, expressed his gratitude to the senior retired naval officers for making this worthy donation to Sri Lanka Navy in this crucial time.
