Arrangements made to provide monthly medications from nearest government hospitals for those who receive treatment from Navy General Hospital

The Navy General Hospital –Colombo has been converted into a treatment center for persons infected with the new coronavirus, soon after the outbreak of COVID – 19. In this backdrop, retired naval personnel, family members of naval personnel and civil staff employees receiving treatment from monthly clinics of the hospital faced quite a few hardships. Taking these matters into consideration, the Navy arranged a new programme, enabling the clinic attendees to receive their medication from the nearest government hospital.

As such, those who received treatment from monthly clinics of the Navy General Hospital now may obtain their medication from the closest government hospital by simply submitting their family treatment books and last available prescription for them by respective consultants to the Out Patient Departments (OPDs) of government hospitals.

It is also informed that the medicine prescribed by the above monthly clinics will be issued only from the drug-stores available in government hospitals.
