Sri Lanka Naval Association donates five hundred thousand rupees to Navy for campaigns to suppress corona

A sum of five hundred thousand rupees (Rs.500000/-) was donated by Sri Lanka Naval Association to the Navy to be used for the campaigns being carried out by the Navy in the effort of suppressing coronavirus, at the Naval Headquarters, on 15th May 2020.

The Navy is receiving a range of material and financial aids from various agencies and organizations for the programmes being undertaken by it to control the spread of COVID-19 in the country. As such donation, a sum of five hundred thousand rupees (Rs.500000/-) was handed over to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva by the president of Sri Lanka Naval Association Admiral(Rtd.) Daya Sandagiri accompanied by a group of its members. Chief of Staff of the Navy was also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, receiving this donation, expressed his gratitude to the members of Sri Lanka Naval Association for making this worthy contribution to the SL Navy in this crucial time. On the directives of Commander of the Navy, this amount of donated money is to be deposited in Naval Social Responsibility Fund.
