Essential items donated to Navy under ‘Maubima Wenuwen Ekwemu’ charity project

The Shraddha TV and Mahamevnawa Monastery, under its ‘Maubima Wenuwen Ekwemu’ charity project donated a stock of essential supplies to the Sri Lanka Navy, in support of its efforts to control the spread of new coronavirus in the country. The donation was made at the Shraddha TV channel premises today (22nd May 2020).

The Navy is constantly receiving material support from various agencies and organizations for the programmes being undertaken to control the spread of novel coronavirus in the country. Accordingly, the Navy today received 11 washing machines, 300 steam inhalers and a stock of essential supplies from the Shraddha TV and Mahamevnawa Monastery as part of its ‘Maubima Wenuwen Ekwemu’ charity project. Ven. Aludeniye Subhodi Thero, CEO of Shraddha TV, Mr. Prasad Dinuwara and a group of representatives from the Shraddha TV and Mahamevnawa Monastery were present on this occasion to handover these supplies.

The occasion was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and Secretary of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Commander Saman Withanachchi. Meanwhile, Commander of the Navy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officials of ‘Maubima Wenuwen Ekwemu’ charity project for continuously engaging in charitable efforts of this nature.
