Navy apprehends cab with two persons transporting Mahogani timber

SL Navy apprehended a cab with two persons who were transporting Mahogani timber without a permit, at the road block conducted near the Ponnalai junction, Jaffna on 26^th May 2020.

Navy is conducting constant operations to prevent illegal activities even under the epidemic situation and during such operation carried out by a team of naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command, searched a suspicious cab at the road block conducted near the Ponnalai junction and recovered about 420seq.ft of Mahogani timber which was being illegally transported by two persons. Accordingly, the two men along with the cab were taken into custody.

The suspects are residents of Mulaipuram area aged 42 and 65. They along with the cab were handed over to Wadukkodai Police for further investigation.
