INS Jalashwa arrives at port of Colombo

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Jalashwa arrived at the port of Colombo this morning (1st June 2020) to take 700 Indian nationals back to their motherland. Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to this affair which took off the ground on diplomatic level.

The vessel arrived at the port of Colombo today to take aboard 700 Indian nationals who had to remain in Sri Lanka, as all countries in the world have decided to cancel flights following the travel restrictions imposed due to COVID 19 outbreak. Due to the prevailing situation in the country, no naval person on the ship was brought aboard. Further, all the Indians who were about to get aboard were fully disinfected before their departure by the Navy.

Meanwhile, the ship is scheduled to set sail with the Indians from the Colombo harbour today itself.
