Navy assists to apprehend a person with Methamphetamine (Ice)

The Navy and the Police STF conducted a joint raid in Kaththankudi area and apprehended a suspect with Methamphetamine (Ice) on 05^th June 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy is playing a pivotal role in making a drug-free society in the country and conducts frequent anti drug operations. During a similar search operation conducted in Kaththankudi area by Naval personnel of Eastern Naval Command with the Police STF-Vaunathiu, a suspect who possessed 950mg of Methamphetamine (Ice) intended for sale, was apprehended.

The 34-year-old suspect is a resident of the same area and he along with the amount of Ice was handed over to Kaththankudi Police for further investigation.
