Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course successfully concludes in Maho

Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Suresh De Silva today (22nd August 2022) presided over the insignia pinning and certificate awarding ceremony of the Bomb Disposal Qualifying Course conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy’s Bomb Disposal Training School in Maho.

Navy to promote yoga among naval personnel

The residential yoga training programme commenced in the Southern Naval Command on 01st March 2022 came to a successful end. The programme was launched to promote yoga exercises among naval personnel, who are into these practices, from each establishment in the Southern Naval Command and the initiative is being carried out on a successful note as of now.

PNS ‘Taimur’ departs island after successful Passage Exercise

Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) ‘Taimur’ which arrived at the port of Colombo on an official visit on 12th August 2022, set sail from the island after successful conduct of a Passage Exercise with Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) ‘Sindurala’ today (15th August).

SLN contingent took part in RIMPAC 2022 arrives the island

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Marine contingent which left for the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2022, hosted by the US Pacific Fleet, arrived the island on 08th August 2022. The SLN contingent on 03rd August successfully completed its leg in the RIMPAC 2022, held in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.

Media release on Passage Exercise scheduled to be conducted between Sri Lanka and Pakistan navies

The Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur which arrived in Sri Lanka on a formal visit, is scheduled to conduct a Passage Exercise with SLNS Sindurala in seas off Colombo as she departs the island on 15th August 2022, upon completion of her visit. In this backdrop, certain media reports circulating about a ‘War Game’ between Sri Lanka Navy and Pakistan Navy are fallacious.

Navy assists conduct of water-cutting ceremony of Kandy Esala Perahera

Sri Lanka Navy assisted the conduct of traditional water-cutting ceremony of Sri Dalada Perahara at Gatambe on the morning of 12th August 2022. As the grand procession (Esala Maha Perahera) of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and 04 Main Devalayas came to an end, this time-honoured ceremony also known as ‘Diya Kepeema’ was performed, on a ritualistic note.

Navy launches project to make handicrafts

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne today (12th August 2022) at the Navy Headquarters inspected several souvenirs produced by the Naval Boat Building Yard in Welisara, as part of its handcrafting-project. The project was initiated with the involvement of naval personnel talented in handcrafting, to make souvenirs using eco-friendly materials for the use of the Navy.

Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur arrived at the port of Colombo on a formal visit this morning (12th August 2022). The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.
