The annual Katina Pinkama ceremony of Rathana Sadaham Meditation Centre in Kithulkote, Thanamalwila was successfully held with the contribution of the Sri Lanka Navy and Navy Seva Vanitha Unit on 29th and 30th October 2022.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne recognized virtues of 03 naval personnel by awarding them with Letters of Commendation at the Naval Headquarters today (28th October 2022). The naval personnel has turned down bribes offered to drop charges on accused who involved in blast fishing and apprehended those 03 with a dinghy and 02 other individuals who offered a bounty for the release of their associates.

The two (02) Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac departed the island on 26^th October 2022 after a successful Passage Exercise (PASSEX) conducted with SLNS Sayurala and SLNS Sindurala of Sri Lanka Navy. The duo of RAN ships arrived at the port of Colombo on 25^th October for engagements with the Sri Lanka Navy, as part of Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022.

Two (02) ships of the Royal Australian Navy, namely; HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac which are engaged in Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022 arrived at the Port of Colombo this morning (25th October 2022). On their arrival, the visiting ships were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval tradition.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel P 627 of Sri Lanka Navy, which set sail for her home-bound journey from Seattle, United States on 03rd September 2022, called at the Port of Changi in Singapore on 22nd October 2022. The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, Mrs Sashikala Premawardhane was also present on this occasion to welcome the ship.

Upon successful completion of their basic training, two hundred and thirty-eight (238) recruits of the 248th intake of Sri Lanka Navy’s Regular and Volunteer Forces, passed out at the main parade ground of SLNS Vidura in Sampoor, Trincomalee on 22nd October 2022.

The ‘Trinco Dialogue - 2022’ maritime symposium was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 21st October 2022. The event was graced by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy and Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne, as the Chief Guest.

Rear Admiral Sujeewa Seneviratne today (21^st October 2022) relinquished naval duties to which he was committed over the past 34 years.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne symbolically handed over 400 thalassemia infusion systems to the Deputy Director General (Non-Communicable Diseases) of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Champika Wickramasinghe at the Navy Headquarters on 19^th October 2022. The infusion systems were produced by the Research and Development Unit of the Navy, under Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiatives.

Precursor to the upcoming poppy flower campaign launched to commemorate fallen war heroes, the Vice President of Ex-Servicemen’s Association, Rear Admiral(Rtd) SR Samarathunga pinned a poppy flower on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (19^th October 2022).
