Chief of Naval Staff of India leaves the island concluding official visit
The Chief of Naval Staff of India, Admiral R Hari Kumar who arrived in Sri Lanka on 12th December 2022 on an official visit, left for India from the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (17th December 2022).

INS Sahyadri departs after successful naval exercise with SLN
The Indian Naval Ship (INS) ‘Sahyadri’ which arrived at the Port of Colombo on 13th December 2022 on an official visit, departed the island on 16th December 2022. On her departure INS Sahyadri conducted a successful Passage Exercise with SLNS Parakramabahu.

First-ever Inshore Patrol Craft Handling Foundation Course for Navy women successfully concludes
The first-ever Inshore Patrol Craft (IPC) Handling Foundation Course arranged for the lady officers and women sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy concluded on a successful note in Trincomalee recently. The course participants demonstrated their practical application of IPC handling before Commander of the Navy and Senior Officers at the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee on 15th December 2022.

Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne promoted to the rank of Admiral
The President Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, promoted Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne to the rank of Admiral effective from today (17th December 2022).
