The Sri Lanka Navy has arranged an array of events, prioritizing religious observances and longstanding naval traditions, to commemorate its 74th Anniversary. As part of the celebrations, a vibrant sailors' gathering took place today (09th November 2024) at the Wave n' Lake Navy Hall in Welisara. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, presided over the occasion.

Rear Admiral Damian Fernando was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy effective from 09th November 2024. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera formally handed over the letter of appointment to Rear Admiral Damian Fernando at the Navy Headquarters and expressed his best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff.

The Sri Lanka Navy today (09th November 2024) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe who relinquished his duties to which he was committed over the past 34 years in the Sri Lanka Navy.

Newly appointed Director General of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Rajapriya Serasinghe called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters on 05th November 2024.
