The French Navy Ship PROVENCE which arrived in Sri Lanka on 16 Mar 25 on an official visit, departed the island on 19 Mar. The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

This effort was part of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, a nationwide programme aimed at fostering an educational atmosphere that upholds national values, incorporates social ethics, and prioritizes environmental sustainability. The initiative revolves around the theme, "A School Full of Happiness," reflecting its focus on creating joyful and sustainable learning environments.

The French Joint Forces Commander in the Indian Ocean, Rear Admiral Hugues Lainé called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at the Navy Headquarters in Colombo on 19 Mar 25.
