ICGS SHAURYA arrives in Sri Lanka with humanitarian aid
The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) SHAURYA, carrying humanitarian aid to the people of Sri Lanka affected by Cyclone Ditwah, arrived in the island on 15 Dec 25. The ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Coast Guard at the Colombo Port in accordance with naval traditions.

Navy leads multi-agency coordination to address regional issues
The Northern Naval Command Headquarters convened a multi-agency coordination meeting on 10 Dec 25. The meeting was attended by the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage, District Secretary of Jaffna, Mr. M. Piiratheepan, Divisional Secretaries and representatives from the Road Development Authority, Disaster Management Centre, Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Recourses, Ceylon Electricity Board, Customs and Police.

Sixty-one (61) Midshipmen and 08 Direct Entry officers pass out through the portals of Naval and Maritime Academy
In a grand ceremony marked by pride and tradition, 33 Midshipmen of the 40th intake of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, 28 Midshipmen of the 65th Cadet Entry intake of Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA)and 08 officers of Direct Entry Course 03/2024 of the Sri Lanka Navy were commissioned into service and passed out at the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee on 13 Dec 25. The ceremonial event was dignified by the presence of Hon. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the President & Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest.
