The Indian Naval Submarine (INS) Shalki arrived at the port of Colombo today (02nd August 2024) on a formal visit. The visiting submarine was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in precision with naval traditions.

The Assistant Secretary North and South Asia of the Australian Department of Defence, Ms. Karen Radford met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (01st August 2024).

As part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, a medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant designed for the Hemodialysis Unit at Teaching Hospital – Ratnapura was declared open on 31st July 2024.

In a significant acknowledgment of its magnanimous efforts, the Sri Lanka Navy's role in supporting thalassemia patients was felicitated by the Ministry of Health at its auditorium today (29th July 2024). The Navy is into their innovative approach in producing low-cost thalassemia infusion systems for the support of thalassemia patients. The felicitation ceremony, which was graced by the Minister of Industries and Minister of Health, Hon. (Dr.) Ramesh Pathirana, was attended by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

A new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, installed as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, was declared open for community use in the Kuda Bellankadawala area, Anuradhapura today (28th July 2024).

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera opened the newly renovated Naval pilgrim house of St. Anne’s Shrine Thalawila in Kalpitiya on 25th July 2024. This particular pilgrim house is allocated to both serving and retired officers and sailors who come to pay homage to the St. Anne’s Shrine Thalawila. The renovation work was carried out utilizing funds made possible by the Sri Lanka Navy Christian Council as well as manpower and industrial expertise enabled by the Navy.
