Navy’s premier Marine Field Training Exercise “Blue Whale – 2026” concluded on successful note in Trincomalee
The 04th edition of Sri Lanka Navy’s signature Marine Field Training Exercise, “Blue Whale – 2026,” commenced on 20 Mar 26, under the patronage of the Commandant Naval Infantry, Rear Admiral Rohan Dissanayake. Organized by the Sri Lanka Navy Marines, the exercise spanned the waters of the Eastern seaboard and its adjacent coastal belts. The closing address of the Exercise “Blue Whale” was presided over by the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya, at the Marine Headquarters, SLNS Vidura in Trincomalee on 26 March.

JMSDF ship OONAMI departs island concluding goodwill visit
The Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) ship OONAMI arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill and replenishment visit on 09 Mar 26. The visit concluded on 11 March, as the ship departed the island, receiving a formal farewell from the Sri Lanka Navy, in keeping with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo.
