Community efforts shine as Navy revitalizes learning environment at Sri Subramaniyam Vidyalaya, Mullaitivu

Demonstrating its continued commitment to social responsibility and empowerment, the Sri Lanka Navy conducted an environmental enhancement initiative at Sri Subramaniyam School, Mullaitivu on 26 Mar 25. The initiative was launched as part of the nationwide programme aimed at fostering an educational atmosphere that upholds national values, incorporates social ethics, and prioritizes environmental sustainability, centered on the theme "A School Full of Happiness.”

A team of 73 takes on Karagahatenna Peak in daring mountain mission

To promote a good work-life balance for a healthier Navy and community, a wide range of programmes are underway within the Navy. Navy and NARA sign MOU on operational management of Research Vessel Samuddrika

In a significant step towards enhancing Sri Lanka's maritime research and operational capabilities, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 27 Mar 25 between the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) and the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) for the operational management and maintenance of the Research Vessel (RV) Samuddrika.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda extended warmest congratulations to the Sri Lanka Navy women's rugby team for their outstanding achievement in winning the Inter-Club Women's Rugby Tournament 2024/25. The champion team called on the Navy Chief at the Navy Headquarters on 25 Mar 25.

Navy takes lead in conserving sea turtles and sets free 42 hatchlings to ocean

The Sri Lanka Navy set free 42 sea turtle hatchlings at the Panama beach on 25 Mar 25. As part of the Turtle Conservation Project of the Sri Lanka Navy, the eggs of these hatchlings were conserved, to help them start the journey to adulthood.

JMSDF MURASAME departs island

Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) MURASAME which arrived in Sri Lanka on 22 Mar 25 for replenishment, departed the island today (25 Mar). The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.
