The Republic of Korea Navy Ship Kang Gam Chan arrived at the Port of Colombo on a replenishment visit this morning (22 Apr 25). The visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.

The Southeastern Naval Command celebrated the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivals (Bak Maha Ulela) with great fervor at SLNS Mahanaga on 15 Apr 25 and SLNS Deegayu on 18 Apr 25, under the patronage of the Commander Southeastern Naval Area.

The Southern Naval Command held its Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival (Bakmaha Ulela) in grand style at SLNS Nipuna on 18 Apr 25. The Commander Southern Naval Area attended as the Chief Guest, adding prestige to the event.

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival (Bak Maha Ulela) of the Northern Naval Command was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SLNS Uttara on 18 Apr 25. The Deputy Area Commander Northern Naval presided over the event as the Chief Guest.

The Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival (Bak Maha Ulela) of the Northwestern Naval Command was held on a colourful note at SLNS Barana on 16 Apr 25. The event was graced by the Commander Northwestern Naval Area, as the Chief Guest.

The Sri Lanka Navy, in collaboration with the Commercial Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and Haritha TV, hosted the "Sayuratha Surya Mangalya - 2025" Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration on 14 Apr 25. The vibrant event took place aboard the Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Sindurala, featuring rich cultural performances and traditional festivities.
