The Sri Lanka Navy facilitated a series of religious programmes at Nagadeepa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya on 02 and 03 Apr 25. These events honoured the late Chief Incumbent, the Most Venerable Brahmanawaththe Dhammakiththi Tissa Thera, and marked the 64th birthday of the temple’s present Chief Incumbent and Northern Province Chief Sanganayake, the Most Venerable Navadagala Padumakiththi Tissa Thera.

Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph, who was appointed as Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, (FOCNF) assumed duties at the office of FOCNF in the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee today (04 Apr 25).

In a prominent display of cooperation and environmental stewardship, the Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) and the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) joined forces for a coastal cleanup initiative at the iconic Galle Face on 03 Apr 25. The event which exhibited the camaraderie of both maritime forces, brought together naval personnel from the visiting JMSDF BUNGO and ETAJIMA as well as the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Sri Lanka Navy on 03 Apr 25 bade farewell to Rear Admiral Thushara Karunatunga who relinquished his duties to which he was committed over the past 33 years in the Sri Lanka Navy.

In a commendable display of Naval Social Responsibility, a blood donation drive organized by the Eastern Naval Command was held at the District General Hospital Trincomalee on 01 Apr 25.

Demonstrating its continued commitment to social responsibility and empowerment, the Sri Lanka Navy threw its weight behind to transform the teaching-learning environment and infrastructure development at Mawathupola Muslim Maha Vidyalaya in Kandy from 18 to 29 Mar 25. The initiative was launched as part of the nationwide programme aimed at fostering an educational atmosphere at schools, centered on the theme "A School Full of Happiness.”

The 10th Fast Attack Craft (FAC) Course in Irregular Warfare, conducted by the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (FAF4), concluded on a successful note in Trincomalee, marking another milestone in the training calendar of FAF4. The certificate awarding ceremony, held at the FAF4 Headquarters, was presided over by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet.
