           Four (4) senior officers of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force, who arrived in Sri Lanka today (July, 20) on a goodwill visit, called on the Navy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe at the Naval Headquarters.

Two JMSDF ships arrive in Colombo harbour
 
               
           Two Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) vessels arrived at the Colombo Harbour today (July, 20) on a good will visit. Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the two ships in accordance with naval traditions on their arrival.

Navy arrests 2 suspect with illegal drugs
 
               
           On receipt of intelligence information to the Navy, naval personnel attached to the Western Naval Command combined with Peliyagoda Police apprehended 2 suspects with illegal drugs, during a raid carried out at Batuwatta locality in Negombo yesterday (July, 18).

Suspect nabbed with stock of illegal cigarettes
 
               
           Following an intelligence tip-off to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the Western Naval Command in coordination with STF personnel in Colombo nabbed a suspect with 1,000 packets of illegal cigarettes, during a raid carried out at Aluth Mawatha area in Mattakkuliya yesterday (July, 18).

           Since restarting facilitation for Onboard Security Team (OBST) operations, the Sri Lanka Navy has provided services for over 10,000 ship movements through the Galle operation centre, as of this afternoon (July, 18).

Commander of the Navy applauds SLN woman ruggerites for winning Inter Club Super 7s Women's Rugby Tournament
 
               
           The members of the SLN women's rugby team, who clinched the overall championship at the Inter Club Super 7s Women's Rugby Tournament, met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters today (July,18). While extending his best wishes on the excellent performances of the team, the Commander of the Navy presented cash prizes to the woman ruggerites in recognition of their achievement in the field of rugby.

           Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command apprehended 3 fishermen for engaging in fishing activities using illegal fishing nets in the sea area of Nachchikuda yesterday (July, 17).

Commander of the Navy hails naval personnel involved in ‘Jumbo’ rescue
 
               
           During his recent visit to the Eastern Naval Command on Saturday (July, 15) to attend the Golden Jubilee of the Naval and Maritime Academy, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne also took time off to visit the team of naval personnel who made a valiant effort in rescuing the Jumbo stranded at sea on 11th July.

Naval officers donate digital mega phones and LED headlights to Navy Disaster Response Unit
 
               
           A group of naval officers who followed foreign courses at the Wuhan University in China, made several donations to the recently established Sri Lanka Navy’s Disaster Response Unit at SLNS Gemunu in Welisara.
