Two Reverse Osmosis plants declared open for community use

Acting upon the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Sri Lanka Navy has been implementing a number of community service programmes focusing on the wellbeing of the civilian population. As part of that initiative, two Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants installed at Bodhimaluwa Rajamaha Viharaya, Kekirawa and Galbokka Primary School, Mahiyanganaya were declared open for community use recently.

Northern Naval Command conducts field medical clinic on Karainagar Island

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Community Service and Social Responsibility Project which is operated under the supervision of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunartne, the Northern Naval Command conducted a mass scale field health clinic at the Divisional Hospital on Karainagar Island on 10th February 2017 with co partnership of Teaching Hospital, Jaffna and Regional Director of Health Services, Jaffna. The health clinic was organized under the patronage of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Vijayaba in Nilaveli belonging to the Eastern Naval Command arrested 2 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing practices using monofilament nets in the sea area of Kumburupiddi yesterday (9).
