Navy apprehends 18 Australia-bound illegal migrants
Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 18 Sri Lankans, who were on an illegal migration attempt to Australia by boat, in the seas off 40 Nautical Miles off Batticaloa yesterday morning (15). The migrants have left from Valaichchenai onboard a Multi-Day Fishing Vessel named “Blue Star”.

Navy installs a Reverse Osmosis Plant at Hambegamuwa
As yet another project of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community service programmes carried out with the intention of preventing Chronic Kidney Disease, a Reverse Osmosis system was installed at the premises of Hambegamuwa Rajamaha Viharaya for the community use and it was declared open Project Director of the Presidential Task force on Prevention of Kidney Disease, Mr. Asela Iddawela yesterday (12).
