Fulfilling another community welfare oriented initiative the Sri Lanka Navy deployed its first mobile Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant for public use in Hambegamuwa, yesterday (16).

A high-level delegation of Bangladesh National Defence College, headed by Major General Hamidur Rahman Chowdhury paid an official visit to the Naval Headquarters and called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne today (16).

As yet another project of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community service programmes carried out with the intention of preventing Chronic Kidney Disease, a Reverse Osmosis system was installed at the premises of Hambegamuwa Rajamaha Viharaya for the community use and it was declared open Project Director of the Presidential Task force on Prevention of Kidney Disease, Mr. Asela Iddawela yesterday (12).

The Annual Fleet Rigging Competition – 2016 organized by Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet (FOCNF) and staff was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 12th August 2016.

Under the guidance and direction of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the first ever Public Speaking Competition of the Sri Lanka Navy was held with the participation of a large number of contestants from all naval commands.
