A two-day Motivational, Leadership, and Team Building programme was successfully conducted for the Sri Lanka Navy Band personnel at SLNS Gemunu on 27 and 28 May 25, under the supervision of the Director of Music (DOM). The initiative aimed to energize the harmonious blend of discipline and artistry to the next level as Sri Lanka Navy band stands the distinguished symbol of the Navy’s ceremonial tradition and musical prowess resonating far beyond our shores.

The Sri Lanka Navy today (30 May 25) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe as he relinquished his duties to which he was committed over the past 33 years in the Sri Lanka Navy.

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, built as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project by the Navy's Research and Development Unit was declared open at Karavilagala Ananda Sambodhi Viharaya in Palagala, Anuradhapura on 27 May 25.

Surgeon Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe was inducted as the 9th President of the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCOMM) in a ceremony held on 20 May 25 at the Wave n’ Lake Navy Hall in Welisara. The event was graced by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda as the Chief Guest, with Consultant Neurologist Dr. Harsha Gunasekara attending as the Guest of Honour.

Delegates from the International Military Sports Council (CISM), representing Africa, America, Asia, and Europe, paid their respects at the National War Heroes’ Monument in Battaramulla on 20 May by laying floral wreaths. The visit was part of the ongoing 80th CISM General Assembly & Congress, hosted by the Sri Lanka Defence Services Sports Board from 19 to 25 May in Colombo.

In a yet another commendable display of Naval Social Responsibility, a blood donation drive organized by the Navy was held at the Naval Hospital at SLNS Pandukabhaya on 20 May 25.
