Navy nabs 04 persons for engaging in illegal fishing in eastern seas
The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 04 persons for engaging in illegal fishing, during a search operation conducted in the sea area of Madurankuda, Trincomalee on 02nd September 2023. The operation also led to the apprehension of a dinghy and unauthorized fishing gear used by the individuals.

Navy apprehends 07 persons for engaging in illegal fishing in northern waters
The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 07 persons who were using unauthorized nets to catch fish, during a search operation conducted in Kadeikadu sea area of Jaffna in the dark hours of 01st September 2023. The operation also led to the seizure of 02 dinghies and illegal fishing gear used for this illegal act.

Navy apprehends 15 persons for engaging in illegal fishing in northern and eastern waters
Special operations conducted by the Navy off Lankapatuna, Kuchchaveli, Trincomalee and Chalai sea areas on 25th and 26th August 2023, led to the apprehension of 15 persons who were using unauthorized fishing nets to catch fish and engaging in light-coarse fishing. During these operations, the Navy also held 06 dinghies and unauthorized fishing gear used for these illegal acts.

The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 08 persons for engaging in illegal fishing using unauthorized nets, during a search operation conducted off Kallarawa, Trincomalee on 21st August 2023. The operation also led to the seizure of 02 dinghies and unauthorized fishing gear used for this illegal act.

Navy takes hold of poaching trawler in Sri Lankan waters
Navy apprehends 10 persons engaged in illegal fishing in Trincomalee
The Navy apprehended 10 individuals on 03rd and 04th August 2023 in Nilaweli and Lankapatuna in Trincomalee, while they were engaging in illegal fishing activities. During these search operations, the Navy also held illegally caught fish, 116 illegally harvested sea cucumbers, 03 dinghies and diving gear.

Navy apprehends 03 persons for engaging in illegal fishing in eastern waters
A search operation conducted by the Navy off Kokilai, Pulmude on 27th July 2023, led to the apprehension of 03 persons who were engaging in illegal fishing activities. During this operation, the Navy also held 01 dinghy, a stock of illegally caught fish and unauthorized fishing gear used for the illegal act.

Navy apprehends 19 persons for engaging in illegal fishing in eastern waters
Navy apprehends 02 poaching trawlers in Sri Lankan waters
The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard conducted a special operation to chase away Indian poaching trawlers from Sri Lankan waters in the dark hours of 24th July 2023. The operation led to the apprehension of 02 Indian trawlers with 09 Indian nationals poaching in Sri Lankan waters off the Delft Island, Jaffna.

Navy apprehends 16 persons for engaging in illegal fishing in northern waters
Special operations conducted by the Navy off Kadaikadu and Veththalakerni in Jaffna on 21st and 22nd July 2023, led to the apprehension of 16 persons who were engaging in illegal fishing activities. During these operations, the Navy also held 11 dinghies and unauthorized fishing gear used for these illegal acts.
