A suspect held in Trincomalee for peddling heroin

A coordinated operation conducted by the Navy and Police STF in Samudragama, Trincomalee on 08th April 2024, led to the arrest of a drug peddler (01) with over 6g of heroin.

The operation was mounted by SLNS Mahaweli in the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with the Sardhapura Police STF in Samudragama area. Upon searching a temporary hut in the locality, the raiding party managed to arrest the drug peddler with over 6g of heroin, made ready for sale.

The suspect arrested in this operation was identified as a resident of Linganagar, Trincomalee, aged 47. The accused along with the heroin substance was handed over to the Trincomalee Police for onward legal action.
