Navy renders assistance to repair sluice gate of Maha Wewa in Galgamuwa South

The Sri Lanka Navy on 26th November 2024 successfully restored the operational condition of the sluice gate at Maha Wewa in Galgamuwa South. The gate had been non-functional due to a failure, prompting the Irrigation Department of Kurunegala District to request assistance from the Navy.

Responding positively to the request from the Navy, a team of divers from the Western Naval Command responded to the call and, in collaboration with the Irrigation Department, managed to repair the defective sluice gate after strenuous effort.
