A coordinated search operation conducted by the Navy and Police led to the arrest of a suspect with 101 unauthorized fishing nets, made ready for sale, in the township of Kanthale on 01 Feb 25.

A search operation conducted by the Navy in the Alankuda sea area of Norochcholei on 01 Feb 25 led to the seizure of about 496kg of dried ginger and 515 pairs of shoes, attempted to be smuggled into the island. The operation also resulted in the apprehension of 02 suspects along with a dinghy.

The Sri Lanka Navy took hold of about 1670kg and 500g of smuggled Kendu leaves and a dinghy, during a search operation conducted off Kepumgoda, Negombo on 01 Jan 25.
