Two (02) suspects held with local cannabis in Lunugamwehera

A coordinated operation conducted by the Navy and Police in Lunugamwehera, Tissamaharama on the night of 20 Apr 25 led to the arrest of 02 suspects with about 01kg and 800g of local cannabis made ready to sell, and seizure of a motorbike.

In this coordinated operation, SLNS Kawantissa in the Southern Naval Command and the Lunugamwehera Police conducted a search in the Lunugamwehera, Dewramwehera area, leading to the inspection of two suspicious individuals and recovering two parcels containing around 01kg and 800g of local cannabis packaged for sale. Accordingly, the suspects, along with a motorcycle and cannabis were taken into custody.

The suspects held in this operation were identified as residents of the Thanamalwila area. Meanwhile, the two suspects, along with local cannabis and the motorbike were handed over to the Lunugamwehera Police for onward legal action.
