Navy collars 03 suspects with narcotics in coordinated operations

The Navy apprehended 03 suspects with 7. 48g of heroin, 29.86g of methamphetamine (ice) and 3.651kg of Kerala cannabis as well as seizure of a motorbike during coordinated operations conducted with the Police from 26 May to 12 Jun 25.

The separate operations were conducted by the Southeastern and North Central Naval Commands in Nindavur and Akkareipaththu of Ampara, Rambewa and Thambuttegama of Anuradhapura and Urumalei in Mannar. The operations were conducted with the assistance of the Ampara, Anuradhapura, Mannar and Thambuttegama Police stations as well as STF of Kebithigollewa and Akkareipaththu. The suspects were nabbed while possessing narcotic substances for sale.

The apprehended suspects, narcotics and the motorcycle were handed over to the Nindavur, Anuradhapura, Talaimannar, Thambuttegama and Akkareipaththu police stations for further legal action.
