Kerala cannabis valued over Rs. 24 million seized in Pesalai

A search operation conducted by the Navy in the beach vicinity between Kudiyiruppu and Pesalai, Talaimannar on 12 Aug 25 resulted in the seizure of about 110kg and 600g of Kerala cannabis.

During this search operation conducted by SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command, 03 suspicious sacks were recovered from the beach vicinity, leading to the seizure of about 110kg and 600g of Kerala cannabis in them.

Meanwhile, the gross street value of the stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to exceed Rs. 24 million. The seized stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Talaimannar Police for onward legal action.
